New member of our Scientific Commitee

SITS has been privileged with two new members of our Scientific Commitee. Our first new member is Associated Professor Daniel Strbian

Assoc. Prof. Daniel Strbian is a distinguished neurologist and researcher with a robust career spanning over two decades. Dr. Strbian currently serves as the Chief doctor of the Division of Emergency Neurology and Neurocritical Care and Director of Stroke Trials Unit at Department of Neurology, HUS Helsinki University Hospital, Finland.

In 2008, he earned his PhD with honors from the University of Helsinki, Finland, where he also achieved board certification in Neurology and an associate professorship (Docent) in Neurology in 2012.

Besides clinical work, Dr. Strbianis also a prolific researcher with over 250 peer-reviewed papers. Hehas also been a key figure in numerous randomized clinical trials, serving as Principal Investigator, National Coordinator, and Steering Committee member. His research has been supported by substantial national and international grants.

Dr. Strbian has supervised numerous postdoctoral and undergraduate students and has been a pre-examiner and opponent for doctoral dissertations at various universities. He has served as a referee to multiple scientific foundations as well as for prestigious scientific journals.

Dr. Strbian is actively involved in the European Stroke Organisation, and he is an invited member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters. He has been heavily involved in organizing major scientific meetings, including the European Stroke Organisation Conference.

Dr. Strbian holds three patents for stroke treatment under Helsinki University Hospital and has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Research Excellence Award from the European Stroke Organisation and the Best Thesis of the Year from the Finnish Medical Association.
