We welcome Professor Simone Sacco.
Simona Sacco, MD, is Professor of Neurology at the University of L’Aquila, Italy, and Director of the Clinical Neurology and Stroke Unit at Avezzano and L’Aquila Hospitals and Director of the local residency program in Neurology. Her research focuses on cerebrovascular diseases and headache disorders, with particular interest in migraine, stroke prevention and acute treatment. She has authored more than 450 peer-reviewed publications and has contributed extensively to international research and clinical guidelines. Prof. Sacco currently serves as President of the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) for the 2024–2026 term. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Cephalalgia and Cephalalgia Reports since 2024. Through her research, clinical leadership, and editorial work, she contributes to advancing knowledge and improving care in the fields of stroke and headache medicine.
