SITS is proud of the multi-year collaboration with MENASO (Middle East and North Africa Stroke Organization), which has now resulted in further positive development work. Together we have designed the SITS MENA Award Program, specially developed for the MENA region. International Regional Coordinator for SITS, Dr. Suhail Al-Rukn and SITS chairman Dr. Niaz Ahmed with former SITS chairman Dr. Nils Wahlgren, will be awarding the centres in MENA.
Awards will be handed out every third month for:
- Excellent door-to-needle time
- Excellent door-to-groin time
- Excellent patient recruitment
- Certificate of achievement
SITS will choose 5 centers from the MENA region for each of the award!
Criteria:
To be included in the SITS-MENA Award program, your center needs to:
1. Use the SITS QR protocol to enter data. The SITS QR protocol takes 3 minutes to complete if you only answer mandatory questions. Otherwise, it takes 5 minutes to complete all the questions. Data entered in the QR protocol for the SITS MENA Award, will also be used for the Angels Award if your centre is participating in ESO/WSO Angels Awards.
2. Enter minimum 20 patients within three months. You should enter consecutive patients (all types of ischemic stroke and those who have received thrombolysis and thrombectomy).
3. You can choose to fill in only mandatory fields in the QR-protocol (takes 3 minutes) or to fill in data in the whole protocol (takes 5 minutes).
4. To be eligible for the “Certificate of achievement”, you need to be National Coordinator, Regional Coordinator or Local Coordinator and recruit at least one centre within 3 months and refer the center to use the QR protocol to participate in the SITS-MENA Award Program.
